What is ValoCaptions?

ValoCaptions is post-production AI subtitle software for long panel discussions, talk shows and other recordings with multiple speakers. It combines review signals and staged AI support to help turn checked content into well-timed, readable subtitles.

What kinds of videos is it designed for?

It is designed for long recordings in which several people interact, including panel discussions at events, broadcast-style talk shows, debates, roundtables and multi-speaker e-learning content.

Who is ValoCaptions designed for?

It is designed for teams that deliver long-form video and subtitles, including webinar and livestream studios, video makers, production companies, e-learning teams and subtitle professionals.

Can I subtitle a panel discussion after an event?

Yes. ValoCaptions is made for post-production subtitles on event panels where speakers interrupt, respond quickly or speak over one another. Multiple transcript and speaker signals flag passages that may deserve a closer look, so you can direct your review where it matters.

Can I use ValoCaptions for talk shows or debates?

Yes. It is suited to long-form talk shows, debates, roundtables and interview-led programmes with several speakers. The workflow gives you a clearer route through the moments that need editorial attention.

Can I use ValoCaptions as a video maker?

Yes. Video makers and production teams can create subtitle files, downloadable transcripts, burned-in subtitle videos and translated subtitle files for long-form productions. You choose the stages that fit the project and retain the final editorial decision.

Can I use ValoCaptions for e-learning videos?

Yes. It is especially useful for long e-learning recordings with guest experts, questions and answers, group discussions or other speaker changes. The workflow helps you find the moments that need the most attention before delivering readable subtitles.

Is ValoCaptions for live captioning?

No. ValoCaptions is designed for post-production: creating and reviewing subtitles after a recording, edit or live broadcast has finished.

Can Valo Media support a WCAG-focused video project?

Yes. Where accessibility work goes beyond subtitles, or where your organisation has specific delivery requirements, Valo Media can prepare a tailored post-production proposal. The exact scope, including subtitle, editorial, audio-description or delivery work, is agreed project by project.

Why are panel discussions harder to subtitle?

People interrupt, take turns quickly and talk at the same time. Those moments make it harder to establish exactly what was said, who said it and how the subtitle should read on screen.

What makes ValoCaptions different?

Most automatic subtitle services rely on a single automated stage, which often leaves substantial manual correction. We take a fundamentally different approach. ValoCaptions works in multiple focused rounds for speech and speaker identification, transcript refinement, subtitle timing and readability. Each round builds on the previous one, significantly reducing manual work and production time, while you retain the final editorial decision.

How is AI used in a project?

AI supports every stage, from the first transcript to the final subtitle layer. Its proposals and changes stay visible in the workflow, so you can steer the work at any point and retain full editorial control over what is approved and delivered. You can also let AI take more of the routine work off your hands while you focus on the decisions that matter.

How are passages selected for review?

The software compares multiple AI transcript sources with speaker and overlap signals. Differences and rapid speaker changes can then be shown as attention points in the timeline. They guide review but do not make the final editorial decision.

What is speaker diarisation?

Speaker diarisation means identifying who speaks when. ValoCaptions uses speaker changes and possible overlap as review signals alongside multiple transcript sources.

Do I need to review the recording?

Yes, but you choose how far you take the workflow and how much assistance you use. The stages are designed to take as much routine work as possible off your hands while improving the subtitle result. AI does the heavy lifting; you decide where to review, steer and make the final call.

What are the stages of the workflow?

The workflow starts with a Basic Transcript. Multiple speech-recognition sources and speaker diarisation, which maps who speaks when, give it a broader basis and point out moments that may need attention. You can then turn the checked transcript into timed Verbatim subtitle cues and, if you choose, rewrite those into Clean Read subtitles for a smoother on-screen flow. Finally, download the subtitles and transcript in the format your delivery requires. See the full workflow.

Can I set preferred spellings for names and jargon?

Yes. You can record preferred spellings for names, jargon and abbreviations, giving the review and later text stages a consistent reference point.

Can I use my own AI tools?

Yes. Use compatible AI tools inside ValoCaptions to work faster on your project. This includes OpenAI Codex, Anthropic Claude Code, Perplexity, OpenCode, Cursor and other tools that support the project workflow. Their proposals remain visible, and you decide what to accept, edit or reject.

What files do I receive?

You receive the subtitle file in the format you need and a transcript in the format you need. If selected, you also receive translated subtitle files and a video with subtitles burned in.

Can subtitles be translated?

Finished subtitles can be translated into multiple target languages, with a separate subtitle file for every translation. See pricing.

Can subtitles be burned into the video?

Yes. You receive your video with subtitles burned into the image, plus a separate subtitle file and transcript file. See pricing.

Are fully managed subtitles available?

Yes. Multiple subtitle specialists manage the complete workflow, from the initial transcript through final Clean Read subtitles. See pricing.

Is training available?

Yes. Start with the free on-demand video course, or book a personal onboarding workshop in English for up to five participants. A subtitle specialist guides you as you work with your own video material. See pricing.

How much does it cost?

Choose the level of support your project needs: Basic subtitles, Clean Verbatim or the full workflow through Clean Read. Translation, personal onboarding and fully managed subtitles are available as optional additions. See pricing.

Why is ValoCaptions in beta?

ValoCaptions is fully operational. During the beta, we are working with a select group of companies to make targeted improvements before expanding access.

Does an early-access request guarantee access?

No. ValoCaptions is being introduced gradually. Submitting the form does not guarantee immediate access, availability, a processing time or acceptance of a project.

Can I buy credits on this website?

No. The pricing page explains the beta pricing model, but credits and projects are confirmed separately after early access has been granted.

What information do the website forms collect?

The early-access form requires your name, business email address, company name and country. Its use-case field is optional. The contact form requires your name, business email address, company name and question. Company website and phone number are optional.

Will you use my recordings or transcripts to train AI?

No. We do not use customer recordings, transcripts or end-client information to train AI, for marketing, sales activity or general product improvement. If we ever wanted to use project material differently, we would ask for a separate written agreement first.

Who can access my project content?

Access is limited to the people and approved services needed to complete your project. We agree this with you before work starts.

How long do you keep project materials?

We normally delete the source video within 180 days of final delivery, or sooner if we agree a shorter period. Before work starts, we confirm how long the other project files are kept and how deletion works.

Will my project use European data centres?

Not automatically. We use European data centres where the agreed project setup allows it. Before you send a recording, we tell you where it will be processed and who can access it.

Can we agree a project-specific delivery and data route?

Yes. Before work begins, we align the selected workflow, deliverables, data route and retention period. If your organisation has additional requirements, we define them in a project-specific quotation.

Can I request access, correction or deletion?

Yes. Contact us to request access, correction, deletion or restriction. If another organisation supplied the recording, we may need to refer the request to them.
